The Institute of Energy Materials Science (IEMS) at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) is a high-level international research institution led by world-renowned strategic scientists, Prof. Shi-Xue Dou and Prof. Hua-Kun Liu, focusing on the fundamental science and applied technology research in the fields of electrochemical energy storage, hydrogen energy and fuel cell, carbon capture, ultrathin two-dimensional materials, and superconducting materials. IEMS aims to attract elite talents in energy-related fields, to build a world-class scientific research team and a world-level cooperation platform to jointly overcome the global challenges in the field of carbon neutrality. So far, the renovations of the offices and laboratories have been completed, and the equipment required for experiment has been purchased and installed. IEMS is purchasing several large equipment and instruments to establish a high-standard material characterization and testing platform. 二、招生/招聘需求及申请条件 (Admissions/Recruitment Requirements and Application Conditions)
1. 科研工作岗位 (Research staff positions)
(1) 研究型教授 (Research professors)
The candidates have achieved excellent academic excellence and leadership recognized by domestic and overseas peers in related fields. The outstanding young and middle-aged scholars with the potential to succeed in national talent schemes will be prioritized.
(2) 研究型副教授 (Research associate professors)
The candidates who have graduated with doctoral degrees generally within ten years, have achieved innovative achievements recognized by domestic and overseas peers in related fields, and are outstanding young scholars with the ability to make breakthroughs at a higher academic level.
(3) 研究型助理教授 (Research assistant professor)
The candidates who have graduated with doctoral degrees generally less than five years, have achieved exemplary scientific research achievements in related fields, and are outstanding young scholars with the ability to have the potential to engage in high-level scientific research work.
(4) 博士后 (Postdoctoral fellow)
The time for doctoral graduation is generally no more than three years, and the doctoral degree is or is about to be obtained. Domestic doctors can apply for both states and Shanghai post-doctoral programs at the same time. Overseas doctors can also apply for foreign expert projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology or the Fund Committee. The personnel funds of the above tasks are superimposed with the salary, and the relevant funds can be partially superimposed, which will be implemented according to the applicable regulations of the school.
2. 行政管理岗位 (Administrative management positions)
(1) 行政秘书（1人）(Administrative secretary, 1 person)
The position is mainly responsible for the day-to-day administrative affairs management of the institute, undertaking research, paperwork, and conference affairs; responsible for postgraduate admissions, postdoctoral and scientific research personnel recruitment, vertical and horizontal project application and management, financial and intellectual property management, as well as coordination and communication with various departments of the university, governments, and enterprises. Candidates should have a master's degree or above, be of good character, be attentive and conscientious, have high work efficiency, good organization, communication and coordination skills, as well as excellent English reading and writing skills.
(2) 实验室主任（1人）(Laboratory supervisor, 1 person)
The position is mainly responsible for laboratory construction and safety management, ordering and managing laboratory instruments, reagents and consumables, equipment training, operation, maintenance, etc. Candidates should have a doctoral degree, be careful, down-to-earth, conscientious, and responsible, have a specific theoretical basis for scientific research, as well as good communication and coordination skills.
